Insights From the Founder of SEO Startup SiteGuru

Rinseroo founder.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Rick van Haasteren of SEO startup SiteGuru that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“I have found that most people already have an idea for a product or invention in their head, but 90% will not pursue it for various reasons. I encourage everyone with an idea to research its potential. You may be pleasantly surprised at what you find, and if all roads point to success, do all in your power to make it happen.”

What is your advice for entrepreneurs in your industry specifically?

“My advice would be to do your homework. If you are selling a product, know your customers, your market, your margins, and everything that there is to know about selling online. If your goal is to be successful, spend the time learning what it takes to make it happen, and do it right the first time.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“Think of things that you use every day, and try to improve upon them in some way, or come up with a solution to an everyday problem. Do some online research. Sometimes the simplest things make the best products.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“My advice would be to know going in that many days will be challenging. Being able to look back and know that you overcame them is an experience that makes you stronger and smarter. The smarter you become, the less the odds of failure. Don't go in thinking that failure is an option.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“I have learned that I love having my own business, and I have also learned that it was one of the most difficult things that I have done in my 56 years. In my mind, nothing good comes easy, and it is worth every penny and moment invested!”
