Insights From the Co-Founder of Social Media Startup Pepper

Pepper founders.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Jake Aronskind of social media food startup Pepper the App that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Take the first step. You may not always know where you're going or how you'll get there. But if you just put one foot in front of the other, eventually you will look up and realize you're exactly where you're supposed to be.”

What is your advice for entrepreneurs in your industry specifically?

“Do things that don't scale. Getting your first 100 users is HARD. Don't expect everything to go viral. But if you keep throwing darts at the wall, eventually you'll get your bullseye.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“Build something that will solve a frequent issue you face because it's likely that many others have experienced the same issue.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Welcome obstacles and failures; they will be your barriers to competition rather than hurdles to your success. For every obstacle or failure you experience, the majority of others that are venturing down the same path as you will stop because of them.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“Launch fast and fail faster. It's okay to do something wrong. The more you try, the more you iterate, [and] the closer and faster you'll get to the right version of your product.”
