What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?
“Quit your job. There is no better driver than having no backup plan. You’ll find yourself breaking down doors to get to the next meeting.”
What is the best method you've found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?
“There’s no real secret here. A few rules to live by: (1) It’s a marathon, not a sprint — so make sure you’re having fun, taking breaks, and spending your time with coworkers you enjoy.”
What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?
“Ideas are worthless. Focus on an enormous problem and get obsessed with that problem. Your startup will pivot, swivel, morph, and iterate — but the problem should never change.”
What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?
“Know that challenges and failures are in the path towards success. You don’t know how many challenges or moments of failure you will encounter, but know that they’re coming no matter what you do. So embrace them. When they happen, know that you’re just where you are on the path towards success.”
What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?
“Your people are everything. The better you hire, enable, support, and encourage — the better the product, revenue, opportunity, and company.”
What is the best advice you've ever received?
“If you want advice, ask for money. If you want money, ask for advice.”
