Founder of Ecommerce Startup Kindroot Shares Their Top Insights

Founder of Kindroot.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. Alisa Pospekhova, founder of ecommerce startup Kindroot, shared valuable insights during our interview that will inspire and motivate aspiring entrepreneurs.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“I would advise them to take their time and also remember to take care of themselves along the way.

I put a lot of pressure on myself to launch by a certain day and accomplish a to-do list, which is great, but it also left me feeling quite burnt out at certain points, which wasn’t healthy for my creativity or motivation.

Now I make sure to take time off or even simply do things that are outside of work and make me happy. You can’t take care of your business if you are depleted.”

What is the best method you've found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?

“I recently started playing pickleball and it has been a great stress reliever for me.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“Don’t force it! And I also don’t think your idea has to be super unique - it just needs to be authentic and genuine.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“I allow myself to feel down and to mourn it, but then eventually gather myself together and push through. It is important to always have your eyes set on long-term goals and not get derailed by short-term setbacks.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“You are capable of more than you think!

I had over 20 contact manufacturers tell me ‘no’ to making my product, so I decided to do it myself and launched my company by handmaking my product. Although it was tough, I am grateful for that experience because I now know that there is always a solution, and I can always figure it out.”

What is the best advice you've ever received?

“To not worry and bet on myself — this ultimately helped me start my business and not worry about putting myself out there.”
