Founder of Legal Tech Startup Courtroom5 Shares Their Top Insights

Courtroom5 founders.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. Sonja Ebron, founder of legal tech startup Courtroom5, shared valuable insights during our interview that will inspire and motivate aspiring entrepreneurs.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Stop aspiring and just do it. You will learn on the job far more than you will in preparation for it.”

What is the best you’ve found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?

“There is a poster on the wall near my bedside, placed so that it’s the first thing I see in the morning: ‘This Is A Marathon, Not A Sprint.’”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“Find a solution to a problem in your own life, and discover if others share that problem.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Welcome each challenge as an opportunity to deepen the moat around your solution. The only failure is staying on the mat when you’re knocked down.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“Don’t expect your customer to think, not even a little bit. Some will, and you should be grateful for it. But, you can’t build a business off of a sales process or product that requires a customer to think. Your job is to do the thinking for your customer. That’s really what they’re paying you for.”

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

“Don’t ignore the haters, but thank them for affirming your success.”
