Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Art Shaikh of tech startup CircleIt that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.
What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?
“It’s an incredibly tough decision to dive into something unknown, especially when it’s headfirst. Despite dreaming about the thrill of charting our own paths, not many of us are thrilled about the uncertainty that lies ahead. But if you know in your gut that you want to get your business off the ground, then push through the challenges ahead and make it happen.”
What is your advice for entrepreneurs in your industry specifically?
“Find an idea that you're passionate about — something that brings you joy. An idea that is close to your heart makes its success that much more rewarding.”
What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?
“Find a personal problem, see if other folks in your circle have similar problems, develop ideas on how to address the problem, and determine ways to monetize it.”
What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?
“Challenges are just part of the process, so you might as well embrace them. Don't get too frustrated every time you hit a roadblock; focus your energy on working towards the solution.”
What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?
“Admitting that I couldn't do everything myself. It didn't take long for me to begin reaching out to friends that had industry knowledge and technical skills. The quicker you realize it's okay to lean on the people that surround you, the better.”
