Founder of SaaS Startup Truein Shares Their Top Insights

Truein founder.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. Ankit Tanna, founder of SaaS startup Truein, shared valuable insights during our interview that will inspire and motivate aspiring entrepreneurs.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Start off by thinking about the long term but also be aware of what small milestones you need to hit in order to succeed.

A deep understanding of your target market and customer profiles will help to keep your product roadmap in the right direction.”

What is the best method you’ve found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?

“Founders often try to do too many things single-handedly. This is unavoidable in the early days when you are still trying to figure out a business model and don’t have a lot of clarity about it.

However, once you have a better understanding of things and some resources, it is very important to start building the right team, set up processes, and delegate things as required. This will let you focus on the most important tasks and help avoid burnout.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“The right idea usually comes from a combination of your skills, experiences, and the problems you have encountered in the past. Contrary to common perception, your startup idea or the problem that you have identified need not be for a large market — not at least when you are just starting out. What is more important is that the problem is severe enough for a few people or a niche segment, and it is worth solving it.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Don’t hesitate to seek help from those around you if you ever get stuck on a problem. More often than not, they are more than happy to help in some way. Having a close group of friends can be quite helpful in handling difficult situations and failures. They can provide emotional support and practical advice.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“It usually takes longer than you anticipated. Be prepared to remain committed and keep working hard to stay in the game.”
