Insights From the Founder of Proptech Startup Field Complete

Field Complete founder.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Tim Tesluck, founder of proptech startup Field Complete, that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Get uncomfortable — that is where true growth lies. Embrace the lows — startups are an emotional rollercoaster ride, [so] strap in and enjoy the ride.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“New problem — old solution. Old problem — new solution.

Look at what the rich people use/have, [and] provide it for the masses. (example: personal driver = Uber, vacation homes = Airbnb, stock portfolio = Robinhood) Some outstanding ones; financial planning/services or CPA, personal security, coaches, fitness, mental health, shrinks, etc.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Write things down [and] have a solid morning routine of gratefulness.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“Capital is abundant, good talent is scarce. Start building a solid foundation early on, start with your personal life and principles — [you] cannot have a mess there and not have it impact your company.”
