Insights From the Founder of Real Estate Startup Consorto

Founder of Consorto.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Philip Verzun of Consorto that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Use rejection and failure as your guide. Plan but get s*** done … now.”

What is the best method you’ve found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?

“Find regular activities that switch off the mind from your project. Speak to other founders, and you will see that everyone is facing similar issues — learn what helps.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“See if you can explain your value proposition in one sentence to a seven-year-old. Then it will likely work if you can execute.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Now you know what does not work, so you are again one step closer to getting it right.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“Choose very carefully the first people around your new project, as few will prove to be reliable once the initial excitement wears off.”

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

“Keep going — you will eventually run out of unluck.”
