Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. Tyler Gottstein, founder of sports tech startup Cadi, shared valuable insights during our interview that will inspire and motivate aspiring entrepreneurs.
What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?
“Be passionate about what you are trying to accomplish, and surround yourself with the best team possible. Know that you will be able to accomplish many things, but with a great team, you will be able to achieve even more than you think is possible. Establish your brand identity, ensure your core structure is sound and adaptable, and be prepared for long hours!”
What is the best method you’ve found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?
“Stay true and focused [on] your end goal, and quickly push through the roadblocks and setbacks. Know that your business will be interrupted and perhaps even imitated, but do not let that slow your progress. Rely on the team around you, and delegate appropriately and frequently. Additionally, stay focused on your core goals without veering off or trying too many ideas. Stay focused and stay positive, even through setbacks.”
What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?
“Solve a problem you are passionate about. Some of the most successful entrepreneurs saw a problem and worked tirelessly to figure out a solution. After you determine the solution, ensure you have a profitable path to build and scale.”
What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?
“Protect your idea and work, and ensure your basic business elements, from branding, accounting, and legal. Additionally, ensure the team around you share your vision and motivation for starting and scaling the business.”
