Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Alan Pendleton of outsourcing software startup ArenaCX that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Discover what really motivates you. Entrepreneurship has its ups and downs. When the going gets tough, and it will, you will need a deep sense of purpose to keep up the fight. Conversely, when you are succeeding, your underlying purpose can keep you grounded.”

What is your advice for entrepreneurs in your industry specifically?

“If you are in the business outsourcing industry, be ready for AI to transform the way we work. AI systems need human oversight, and human teams need AI for augmentation and orchestration.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“We can't all launch cutting-edge technology startups. Most of society's needs are more mundane. It's okay to jump into an established space, especially where you have real experience or expertise. Just be sure you are doing something innovative enough to attract customers or operate more efficiently. You need a competitive advantage because winning on hustle can't be sustained.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“The struggle to overcome challenges is what makes both success and failure meaningful. We don't appreciate easy successes or painless failures. Facing challenges makes us better and makes life more interesting.”
