Founder of SaaS Startup SubsBase Shares Their Top Insights

SubsBase founder.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with M Farag of SubsBase that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Validate your idea and talk about it with people you know. Don't be afraid that someone takes it; if it stays with you, it will stay a dream. Execution of ideas is what matters, and if you truly have something different to offer, you'll always be one step ahead. Another side effect when you start talking about your ideas, you'll stumble upon help and guidance — people are usually helpful.”

What is the best method you've found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?

“Guilt-free breaks; if you feel guilty about your breaks, you're adding more to burnout rather than avoiding it. What you do in the break is up to you, but it should be something that makes you lose track of time: reading, movie, friends/family outing, sports, whatever.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“Leverage your domain expertise. Don't try to find something unique in a different domain because it will almost always have a missing element of realism.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Ask for help and support from your network, but always choose who to ask advice from. Always get advice from a domain expert.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“It is a tough rollercoaster, so don't embark on it if you're too risk-averse, prefer a slow and relaxed schedule, or are afraid to get out of your comfort zone.”

What is the best advice you've ever received?

“Everyone is a salesperson. You're always selling something all the time: an idea, an opinion, a product, a service, and everything in between.”
