Founder of HR Tech Startup Qooper Shares Their Top Insights

Qooper founder.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. Omer Usanmaz, founder of HR tech startup Qooper, shared valuable insights during our interview that will inspire and motivate aspiring entrepreneurs.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Focus on the customer and revenue. Get to revenue as fast as possible. Which means it will be dirty, and you'll need to give up your ideals.”

What is the best method you've found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?

“I never understood this concept, to be honest. I don't think it matters either. You either focus on the right stuff, and it works, or it doesn't, and you burn out — maybe?”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“See a problem [with] a job you have. Check if a lot of people are having this problem. Check who is addressing it. Make an MVP. If people want to buy the MVP and reuse it in a large market, you're good.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Learning means failing then trying again with a better strategy. Do this as many times as needed until [you make] revenue. You will get rejected. You will hear things that don't make sense. Get to what they mean, and solve it without pitying yourself.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“Fake it till you make it works to get started. Money is as honest as anything gets.”
