Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. Brandon Saldan, founder of food tech startup Invii, shared valuable insights during our interview that will inspire and motivate aspiring entrepreneurs.
Business Insights From the Founder of Invii
What is your #1 piece of advice for startup founders?
“Take the leap. If you’re passionate about what you do, don’t be afraid to take the steps you need to get to where you want to be.”
What is the best method you’ve found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?
“Burnout is something that every entrepreneur is going to face at one time or another. It’s one of the few inevitable things about starting a company. The way I avoid burnout is by simply not overworking myself, no matter how hard I want to try to solve an issue or add a new feature. There needs to be a good work/life balance in your life no matter what.”
What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?
“Find something you’re passionate about, but don’t create a solution before finding a problem.”
What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?
“Everybody is going to face challenges and failures, especially as a founder. The only way to move past them is to use them as learning experiences. Pull as much insight as you can from them. Not only will this help you as a founder, but it will help you grow as a person as well.”
What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?
“Being around the right people really makes a difference. Surround yourself with those that inspire you, that guide you, and push you to be the best version of yourself possible.”
What is your advice for entrepreneurs seeking funding for the first time?
“Be ready to face rejection. Seeking funding is a long process, and it isn’t easy.”
