Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. Efrat LaMandre, founder of healthcare startup Hawk Scribes, shared valuable insights during our interview that will inspire and motivate aspiring entrepreneurs.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Just. Jump. In.”

What is the best method you've found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?

“You are in charge of your schedule. Let me say it again, ‘You are in charge of your schedule.’

That means YOU decide when to put the time in for what is important to you.

This has kept me connected and energized, no matter what comes my way.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“I look at the industry I am familiar with, notice a problem, think of the solution, and create a business around it.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Get used to them. Expect them. If challenges and failures scare you, you need to reconsider your decision to be an entrepreneur.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“The importance of a good team. As entrepreneurs, we think we can do it all on our own.  Get a team of good people as soon as you can — even when you think you can't afford it.”

What is the best advice you've ever received?

“Let others speak first.”
