Insights From the Founder of Real Estate Startup Rentround

Rentround founder.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Rajdeep Dosanjh of real estate startup Rentround that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Don't give up after failures. My first three businesses failed, but I learned new skills along the way, which if I didn't have, I wouldn't have been able to create Rentround.”

What is your advice for entrepreneurs in your industry specifically?

“In the marketing world, know as much about the tools out there as possible. You may be an expert in Google Ads. But, it's good to know a little about Facebook Ads, SEO, blogging, etc.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“Create a low-cost prototype to test the market first. You will quickly know whether the idea has legs or identify major gaps in your product/business model.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“When bad things happen, take a step back and look at the bigger picture. It may have been a bad month or quarter, but overall, the last year may have been better than you thought it would be. If that's the case, use that wider view to spur yourself on.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“Don't let your ego not address the root cause. Are the challenges or failures a fault of your own? Are you ignoring something out of fear? Be confident and address why they happened, and put a solution in place.”
