Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. Justin Powell, founder of ecommerce startup Miniature Mail, shared valuable insights during our interview that will inspire and motivate aspiring entrepreneurs.
What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?
“Don’t give up too early on good ideas that are hard, and don’t be afraid to eventually give up a bad idea.”
What is the best method you’ve found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?
“It’s okay to take a break. Take the weekend off, take a vacation, think about other things.”
What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?
“Cultivate a creative and curious frame of mind. Ask ‘what if?’ a lot.”
What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?
“Remember that in the end, everyone dies, and we won’t be able to take our success with us. So, it’s not that big of a deal. It takes some of the pressure off.”
What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?
“I’ve learned that I need help from others. Learn to find good people, delegate, and trust them.”
