Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Puneet Kataria of CustomerSuccessBox that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.
What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?
“Start early. Build a team first before you build a product. Build everything 10 times better and dream 100 times larger.”
What is the best method you’ve found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?
“The best way for me has to [be] meditation.”
What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?
“In my perspective, your idea need not be unique. Rather, it should be better. ‘Being different is easy and being better is difficult’ – Steve Jobs.”
What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?
“Forgive your own failures and learn from them.
The best way to overcome challenges is to face them, prepare yourself, read, learn from others, and don’t hesitate in asking for help. Eventually, when you’re prepared, face the challenges.”
What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?
“Don’t hesitate to innovate even if you’re playing in a well-defined, pre-existing category. In my opinion, a better well-thought product coming from a small-scale startup can beat an enterprise-grade product. Keep an eye on your runway, and keep a portion of the fund as contingency funds, and hopefully, you create a contingency fund and you never have to face it.
Go remote early.”
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
“Be persistent and believe in the power of consistency.
Believe in yourself and try to forgive yourself whenever possible.”
