Insights From the Founder of Creative 3D Technologies

Creative 3D Technologies founder.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Ethan Baehrend of Creative 3D Technologies that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“I believe the key to running a successful startup is not settling, in all aspects. If you keep persisting to make the best product you can, to build the best business, to get funded, etc. then you'll have made a great company. Even in the face of hardship, don't settle and keep moving forward.”

What is the best method you've found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?

“I think avoiding burnout comes down to two things: 1) Take time before starting to ensure you have the drive and passion to pursue this business, and 2) Make an active effort to build a healthy personal balance so you can continue to pursue it. Those will at least make the burnout that you may eventually face easier to overcome.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“My best advice would be for you to let the idea come naturally. I think there's a large distinction between ideas that are forced as a quick business to start and exit and the ideas that spawn from the desire to improve something that's genuinely frustrating. Pursue what frustrates you so others won't face that same frustration.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Time and patience are the best ways to overcome challenges, which is why I stress pursuing something that you can find passion in. In regard to failure, what defines us as people isn't what we achieve but how we recover from failure. Let that failure be a building block for you in your journey to achieve new heights.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“Don't be afraid to question the way things are done. I had multiple occasions of moving back to square one and then taking things a completely different route than what's standard for the industry. Just because something became standard doesn't mean it's necessarily the best way to do things.”
