Describe your product or service:

“Attention Insight is a pre-launch analytics platform that provides marketers and business owners with critical insights on customer attention. Attention heatmaps indicate how users interact with content, what parts of a visual are seen or missed by users.”

Describe your company values and mission:

“Attention Insight [is] standardizing optimizing designs across media channels.”

How are you funded? I.e. type of funding, number of funding rounds, total funding amount.

“Two funding rounds that included accelerator, business angels, and two VC firms.”

How did you come up with and validate your startup idea? Tell us the story!

“Attention is the most limited resource in marketing, and campaign testing is a critical tool for setting its success. Before there was no standard way to analyze, measure, and optimize attention. Now with Attention Insight marketers can easily evaluate attention distribution in upcoming campaigns, optimize design for maximum visibility and quickly run A/B tests.”

How did you come up with your startup’s name? Did you have other names you considered?

Company name is a reflection of its vision, we also considered ‘True Insight’ as a company name.”

Did you always want to start your own business? What made you want to become an entrepreneur?

“We always wanted to start a business that had a potential to grow expediently, we wanted to serve a bigger client segment, but most importantly we wanted to address the needs of marketers and bring the industry-changing product to them.”

Who is your target market? How did you establish the right market for your startup?

“Marketers and SaaS companies that are looking for faster ways to implement pre-launch testing and A/B testing.”

What’s your primary marketing strategy?

“Content marketing is the key for us publishing expert articles on how to use the platform and insights on attention, case studies.”

How did you acquire your first 100 customers?

“Through acceleration program, marketing of platform, participation in industry events where we showcased the platform to marketers, researchers and agencies.”

What are the key customer metrics / unit economics / KPIs you pay attention to to monitor the health of your business?

“Analysis implemented per month, overall usage of the platform (number of times users logged in and implemented analysis).”

What’s your favorite startup book and podcast?

“Podcast: ‘Startup Therapy.’ 

Books: There are a lot of them, but if naming one it would be ‘The Hard Things About Hard Things.’”

What is a song or artist that you listen to for motivation?

“SYML for focus during work hours; also reading, and music playlist on Spotify.”

Is there a tool, app, or resource that you swear by to help run your startup?

“Google OKRs, Slack, Google Hangouts, and Pomodoro app.”

What is something that surprised you about entrepreneurship?

“There are on/off hours from your company [where] you are living and breathing with it every waking minute.”

How do you achieve work/life balance as a founder?

“Still searching for it, mostly sticking to the routine of dedicating off work hours and focusing on active free time like going on a hike or for a walk with a dog or a friend.”

When did you know it was time to quit your day job to focus on your startup?

“When we decided to form a company.”

What was your first job and what did it teach you?

“Waiter — it taught me how important client success is and how critical it is to plan your time to avoid burnout.”
