- Starting at just $15 per user per month, Kixie’s baseline pricing is about half as costly as Nextiva. Of course, that could change in a hurry if you use more than a small handful of minutes each month, but for very small businesses that essentially just want the enhanced credibility that comes with having a business phone number, Kixie will almost always be cheaper.
- Nextiva offers a 30-day trial period that gives prospective customers a good feel for whether they like the service. Kixie only provides a 7-day trial, which doesn’t seem like a sufficient amount of time to analyze their phone service.
- Each of these companies offers exclusive integration options with leading software products. If you’re a Slack user, you’ll enjoy Kixie’s integration with their platform, and if you use Skype, Nextiva can provide solutions that integrate seamlessly.
- When it comes to customer support, Nextiva offers service via phone to all clients. As for Kixie, they only provide email support, unless you subscribe to their top-tier $65/month plan, at which point they will talk to you over the phone.

Kixie’s Basic package is a barebones offering, as they offer very few standard features. With that in mind, let’s skim through a few of the important features that separate these 3 packages from each other:

- Integrated ($35/month): Adds auto-attendant, call recording, management dashboards, onboarding resources, new lead creation tool

Reading client feedback is a great way to get a feel for a company’s customer experience, and both Kixie and Nextiva have easily accessible reviews online. Searching 3rd-party review aggregator websites, I found about 200 reviews for Nextiva, and around 100 for Kixie.
Customer feedback is a major positive for these companies, as they both have nearly universal praise from their clients, with high average rating scores across the board.
Kixie’s customers often discuss how much they appreciate their U.S.-based support department, and point out how smoothly it operates compared to other options in this industry. As for Nextiva, their clients enjoy clear call quality and great customer service.
In short, while Nextiva may have a bit higher volume of reviews, it would be tough to pick a favorite when it comes to customer feedback in general.
When it comes down to it, both Kixie and Nextiva are entirely capable providers of business phone service. They’re consistent and reliable, and they’re both considerably more affordable than acquiring legacy phone service from a traditional telecommunications company.
Personally, I prefer Nextiva. I’m a huge fan of their unlimited minutes plans, and their 30-day risk-free trial period is a great way to try before you buy.
