Insights From the Founder of Enterprise Tech Startup Tango

Tango founders.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with the team at Tango that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Spend an uncomfortable amount of time defining the problem, and resist the urge to build in the early days.”

What is your advice for entrepreneurs in your industry specifically?

“Large technology companies spend unbelievable amounts of money experimenting and defining why a product looks and feels the way it does. If something isn't your core differentiating feature or UX, copy the big guys. They've spent more time and energy on it than you have at your disposal.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“In addition to defining the problem, define the market. Being narrowly focused on a specific customer helps you prioritize through the lens of their needs and desires.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Lean on others to help you. It's lonely enough as a founder, and there are plenty of people out there willing to help and guide you through things they've experienced.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“Be comfortable admitting your blind spots. Imposter syndrome is very real, but don't let it hold you back from asking for help.”
