Insights From the Founder of Eco-Friendly Startup A Good Company

A Good Company founder.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Anders Ankarlid of A Good Company that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Risk is okay! Without risk, it is very difficult to stand out from the crowd. Risk allows you to challenge yourself and create products which you didn’t even think you could.”

What is your advice for entrepreneurs in your industry specifically?

“Product first! And don’t settle for anything else other than a great product. That includes packaging, what happens at the end life of each product, NO plastic, and focus on transparency. There are a lot of companies now focusing on sustainability, but being completely transparent allows customers to trust us, and we can provide them with the benefits when using our products over competitors’.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“Believe in yourself, and don’t take life too seriously. This allows you to think more freely about new ideas and not restrict yourself, [meaning] you will be able to create some of the most innovative products.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Have a great team; this allows you to work together seamlessly. This can be achieved by finding team members who all share the same goal and same values. This creates a united team.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“To share the burden early on, no man is an island. By sharing the burden, you will allow yourself to complete tasks to the best of your ability instead of juggling multiple tasks and completing them half-heartedly.”
