There are several ways on which you can obtain a California EIN. However, you are advised to choose only one application method to ensure that you are also issued only one Employer Identification Number. Choose one which you think is most convenient for you.
An online application is the fastest, easiest, and most convenient way to obtain a California EIN. When you complete the online application, you can also submit it immediately, and an EIN will be issued before the session ends.
For the fax application of your EIN, you need to fill out the SS-4 Form completely. Once you have filled out all the required fields in the form and ensured that everything is done so accurately, you can fax the form to 859-669-5760. Make sure to include your fax number in the application so they can send your EIN to you. You need to wait for four business days to receive your EIN.
For the telephone application of your EIN, you can refer to form SS-4 for the information you need to prepare when making the call. Calls for EIN application are made to 1-800-829-4933 from Monday to Friday, anytime between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM. As soon as the call ends, you will have obtained an EIN already.
A mail application for your EIN also requires that you download and fill out the SS-4 form. Once you are done, double check for correctness and accuracy. Then, you can mail the application form to the address provided below. You need to wait for four weeks to receive your EIN.
