Rocket Lawyer Corporate Meeting Minutes Template Review

Ideal For You?

Rocket Lawyer Corporate Meeting Minutes Template ReviewToday, we’ll be taking an in-depth look at one of our personal favorites for legal document creation: Rocket Lawyer.

This service provides the best of both worlds and more with their easy to use, time-saving platform. Their templates can be used for everything including corporate bylaws, non-disclosure agreements, and of course, meeting minutes.

We’ll run through the pros & cons of the program, how they compare to other sites, and the pricing scale so you can get a feel for how this service could potentially fit in with your business.  Enjoy!

Some Pros & Cons of Rocket Lawyer

Pros

  1. Meeting minutes are super-common corporate forms. Rocket Lawyer keeps their template up to date by working with legal professionals on a routine basis so you can be sure you’re getting the most applicable version.

  2. If you decide to go with their Premium/Accelerate service, you can easily get your meeting minutes looked over by an attorney. The service is included in your subscription fees, so you’ll receive a substantial discount in comparison to what you’d pay for an attorney.

  3. Rocket Lawyer handles all the basic format and common legal verbiage so you don’t have to.

  4. They’ve done a great job of including step-by-step instructions to help you fill everything out correctly. And if you’re still having difficulties, we’ve had great experiences with their customer service reps.

  5. In general, you end up paying far less with a service like Rocket Lawyer, as opposed to hiring a corporate attorney. This is one of the big reasons why so many entrepreneurs stick with Rocket Lawyer.

  6. Put simply, their 7 day trial is awesome and comes with all the bells and whistles for you to try before committing to a subscription. (Just keep in mind that when you sign-up and use it past 7 days, it’s a subscription that’ll bill you every month.)

Cons

  1. While you will have access to a legal professional with Rocket Lawyer, they are in no way liable if you make a mistake. That responsibility falls on you. At the end of the day, this is the big distinction between working with an attorney and using an online service.

  2. Rocket Lawyer has received mixed feedback. Some customer reviews are fantastic, others had a harder time than ideal. The platform is great for some and not so great for others, so it’s best to try it out for yourself before deciding.

Pricing & Features

On their website, they have a convenient little infographic that explains a few of the pricing options. However, there’s a lot of little things within the find print to acknowledge.

Rocket Lawyer Meeting Minutes

Single Document Purchase: $5-$70 (depending on document complexity)

This generally costs between $5-$70 depending on what exactly you’re looking for and how complex or customized the document is. We’re not a huge fan of this option, as you can’t checkout until you set up a profile and provide all credit card details. However, it makes some sense since they store your document for you, as well as let you come back and revise or edit if need be.

I recommend this package for those of you who want a zero hassle way to create your meeting minutes. Because it’s such a low commitment option, you can buy the document, create, revise, download and be on your way.

Premium Package: $39.95/mo.

If you’re looking for a larger commitment, maybe their Premium package is more your style.  With this monthly subscription, you’ll have access to their entire document library so you can create whatever legal documents from their templates. Along with that, you can store all of these documents using their cloud storage and revisit and revise whenever you like.

We think this package is a great starting point for small businesses because you have access to all of their templates, so no matter how your needs change, there’s something available to you.

Accelerate Package: $49.95

Along with all the benefits of Premium, this package is designed for those who are looking for a little bit more support. You’ll have access to everything you’d expect from their introductory package, plus a registered service agent that’s completely free for the first year.

If you’re a fan of personalized support, or just need a little bit of a helping hand understanding the process, this is definitely the package for you. Plus, if you’re just starting out, they offer reduced rates for incorporation or LLC formation, so you can shave a little off of your business formation fees.

Customer Reviews

Customer ReviewsRocket Lawyer has received thousands of customer reviews over the years, and most of them are pretty positive. We’ve pulled together a quick summary of their ratings so you can see how they fair.

Customer reviews as of 8-31-2017:

  • BBB: A+
  • TrustPilot: 9.5/10, 111 reviews
  • SiteJabber: 3.3/5, 386 reviews
  • FitSmallBusiness: 3, 3 reviews
  • Consumer Affairs: 2.5/5, 8 reviews

As you can see, different websites have rather contrasting opinions on Rocket Lawyer. The number one complaint we’ve seen is from these reviews is from users that felt that they were overcharged.

This may not be the case, but in any case, we’d recommend that you always read carefully when signing up for subscription services just to make sure that you’re getting exactly what you want. As far as I can see, it’s almost totally related to billing confusion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I still need an attorney?

It's very likely. While these document creation services can be a great helping hand when it comes to legal work, however, Rocket Lawyer itself does not provide personalized legal advice. Because of this, we highly recommend you look into working with an attorney or talking with something who has a background in business law.

Are their any hidden fees?

Not necessarily, but I definitely encourage you to look through everything when you sign up. It’s surprisingly easy to miss something, or accidentally check a box that you didn’t mean to. So double check and you’ve got nothing to worry about.

Should You Use Rocket Lawyer’s Template?

Based on all of the things that we’ve talked about here, we’d give Rocket Lawyer’s meeting minutes template a 4.4 out of 5. It’s a great option that allows for some flexibility so that you can create and revise your meeting minutes whenever you like.
