In February, the AI cybersecurity company purchased the American data company known as Scalyr for $155 million in equity and cash. Before that, the SentinelOne raised $697 million from investors like venture capital firm Sequoia Capital, New York hedge fund Tiger Global, Insight Partners, Samsung Venture Investment, and Qualcomm Ventures, among others, according to a company called Start-Up Nation Central, which tracks funding from most any major startup company on its online database. Then before that, SentinelOne partnered with the luxury car company Aston Martin.
“The parallels between Aston Martin and SentinelOne are strong, and it is an honor to support Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team’s much-anticipated return to the top tier of global motorsport,” said the CEO of the company, Tomer Weingarten. “We both share a relentless passion for innovation and desire to disrupt the status quo and an appreciation of the significance of speed.”
The fact that the maker of the cars that James Bond drives trusts SentinelOne should give you some indication of the upward trajectory of the AI cybersecurity startup company.
But don’t just take it from Aston Martin; look at the value and growth of the wider business.
The Growth of the Cybersecurity Business
The global cybersecurity business is currently worth about $203 billion and is anticipated to grow to a total business valuation of over $248 billion by 2023.
The problem that an AI cybersecurity startup company like SentinelOne seeks to solve was brought to the forefront last year when a hack of US governmental infrastructure left an unknown amount of information vulnerable. Now, many US lawmakers are saying that cybersecurity needs to be more of a focus.
“Our collective failure to make cybersecurity a central component of our national security — and invest in it accordingly — contributed to the success of the campaign and the difficulty we face in understanding its impact,” said Congressman Bennie Thompson about the hack.
Because of this, it’s clear that cybersecurity should be a major focus for everyone, from global governments to the consumer. And SentinelOne is an AI startup company helping to bring you ease of mind.
