Streaming platforms, video chat services, and other virtual communication devices have allowed consumers, friends, and families to stay connected more than ever. During the global pandemic, the business of maintaining connections with friends and family while practicing social distancing was greatly assisted through platforms like Zoom. However, startup robotics company Enabot seeks to provide users with a different way to stay in touch with family and friends remotely. The robotics startup business is currently seeking investor support through a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to bring its “family companion” robot, Ebo, to market.

“ENABOT is the creator of family bots that represent the next generation of social connectivity,” the robotics startup company said on its campaign page. “By uniting the power of mobile with artificial intelligence and robotics, our groundbreaking products allow for family, friends, and pets to always be engaged and connected.”

Enabot has already smashed the initial funding goal set by the robotics startup business. In fact, the crowdfunding campaign for the robotics company reached its initial investment goal of just under $10,000 after going live for only one hour.

So far, over 300 investors have shown interest in the Ebo robot built by Enabot. The campaign has garnered over $75,000 from investors and early adopters of the companion robot. Enabot still has a few weeks left to build support for its business through its Kickstarter, which will conclude June 8. Early investors have the opportunity to reserve a device from Enabot for a 40% discount off the expected retail price between $100 and $150, depending on the model.

Your Friendly Robot, Ebo

Founded in 2018, Enabot originally designed its first robot model as a playful companion for pets while owners were away from home. The startup company created a round, remote-controlled robot that was piloted using a mobile device. With the addition of several new added and requested features, the robotics startup business has built a new Ebo companion for family members and friends.

The company equipped its Ebo with two-way communication technology, including a full-HD camera with photo and video capture capabilities, microphones, night vision, and a slew of smart features. Ebo is able to automatically avoid taking falls or colliding with objects and can even bring itself back to its charging dock when running on a low battery, thanks to the upgrades installed by the startup robotics company. With the new features implemented by the robot business, Ebo can also serve as a roving home security camera to keep an eye on things when everyone is out.

Bringing Robots Home

With advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics, more and more robots are being brought home to help around the house. Market research projects the global household robot market to reach a value of $9.1 billion by 2024. Furthermore, the household robot business is expected to grow at a CAGR of 22.4%. The startup company offers a unique and interesting way to engage with family and friends (and pets) remotely, in addition to providing a new piece of home security for homeowners.
