Insights From the Founder of Wine Retail Startup Savage Vines

Savage Vines founder.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Kyle Paskett of wine retail startup Savage Vines that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Be clear on your mission, strategy, and values. This is the foundation for what you are setting out to achieve.”

What is your advice for entrepreneurs in your industry specifically?

“Ensure you are well funded and get advice from those who have done it before. Avoid buying through wholesalers. Be a price maker, not a price taker.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“Ensure you have a clear, unique selling point so you can differentiate your business.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Have a good support network and consider a business coach or good accountant.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“Accept [that] things will not go to plan, but most things can be fixed. Don't sweat the small stuff, and keep your eye on the big picture and not the day-to-day hardships you will face.”
