Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Erik Underwood of KillerPolitics that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Always ask yourself ‘What problem am I solving?’"

What is your advice for entrepreneurs in your industry specifically?

“[Respect] all walks of life — Silicon Valley is very "closed door," so expressing understanding and empathy towards others in your field is key to overcoming this issue and establishing yourself more prominently”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“Asking yourself, ‘How is this different?’”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Challenges and failure[s] are learning opportunities — if you get knocked down, get back up. If you cannot get back up after facing difficulties, being an entrepreneur is not right for you.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“Trust your colleagues and know their opinion contains value with healthy discussions on any topic.”
