Founder of Ecommerce Startup JIGGY Shares Their Top Insights

JIGGY Founder.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Kaylin Marcotte of JIGGY that will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Find your ‘why’ and make it bigger than you. Come from a place of how you can have impact and build a lasting community around your brand, rather than just a product.”

What is your advice for entrepreneurs in your industry specifically?

“Make sure you're building in scalability from the beginning. Especially as we're seeing this year with supply chain challenges, astronomical freight rates, th[e] more you can keep options and diversify supply chain[s] and make sure you're set up for scale, the better.”

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“Spend a couple of weeks being hyper-observant of passions or pain points in your own life. I think starting with an organic need and then putting a fresh spin or business model around it is the best way to approach idea generation.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Get comfortable with chaos. There will always be something to problem solve, and I think one of the biggest qualities a founder needs is not a specific skill set or prior experience but adaptability and nimbleness.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

“Learn ruthless prioritization. Make sure you carve out time to think big picture and get above the weeds because it's so easy to get caught up in the urgent but not necessarily most impactful to-do list. The business needs you to be looking ahead.”
