Inpathy Founder.

Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. Ziarekenya Smith, founder of social media startup Inpathy, shared valuable insights during our interview that will inspire and motivate aspiring entrepreneurs.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

“Make sure you are solving a real problem, and [that] it's purposeful to you because people will resonate with it.”

What is the best method you've found to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?

"Praying and crying out to God daily helps me put my burdens and worries on God because sometimes people in your circle won't relate to your entreprenuer struggles, which can be a lonely feeling. Because the entrepreneur life gets spooky, the road is filled with uncertainty, and it can cave in on you at any time."

What is your advice for coming up with a unique startup idea?

“Solve your own problem. Because when sh%t hit the fan, most likely it will, you will be able to persevere because it's your problem you are solving.”

What is your advice for overcoming challenges and failure?

“Have faith. It eventually gets better if you know what you were born to do in your heart of hearts.

Also, don't worry about tomorrow because tomorrow will worry about itself each day have enough trouble of its own.”

What is the biggest lesson you learned and what can aspiring entrepreneurs take from it?

"I repeat, one day, friends, family, and loved ones will one day disappoint you on your journey, and it's okay; human beings are like that. That's what makes us perfectly imperfect. It doesn't make it right, but it does make us human. So trust in someone or something higher than yourself. For me, it's God (Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior), and he hasn't failed me on my journey yet."

What is the best advice you've ever received?

"Have faith because God is always able. Shout out to my Mom, Bobbie Smith, and Sister, Centra Smith, for constantly reminding me of that."
