Any entrepreneur can tell you, launching a startup is a learning process. Therefore, one of the best things you can do prior to launching a startup of your own is to learn from those who have blazed the trail. We were fortunate enough to hear some valuable insights during our interview with Fabiënne Overbeek of Grow a Wish. These insights will inspire, motivate, and teach aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.

1. Make a Strict Schedule

“I think the biggest challenge every week is combining a full-time business administration degree with my own business. Therefore, I make a tight schedule every week. Although I never quite stick to it, it does keep me focused, and I get a lot done.”

2. Implement Outside Knowledge to Innovate and Grow

“[M]y studies ensure that I am always thinking about possible innovations, and it makes me think about how I can apply what I am learning in a practical way within my company.”

3. SEO Is a Powerful Marketing Tool

“I received the first customers all through google. I focus a lot on search engine optimization. It was funny, because to my surprise, before I had officially communicated [that] the web shop [was] live, I had already received the first orders.”

4. Entrepreneurship Requires Perseverance

“Setting up your own company takes a lot of perseverance. Besides, you need to celebrate every small goal that you achieve, it keeps you motivated and makes sure you stay focused on the right path.”

5. If You Have a Dream, Go for It

“My advice, if you have a passion or dream, do something with it. Just start and express your ambition! You will then automatically meet the right people who can help you further.”
