INCORPORATE.COM REVIEW

(Pricing, Features, Customer Reviews & More)

Incorporate.com LLC ReviewLooking for a rock solid online formation service to help you form an LLC or Corporation and bring your business idea to life? Incorporate.com just might fit the bill.

Formerly known as “The Company Corporation”, Incorporate.com has gone through more than a couple name changes, but their mission remains the same after nearly a century. Over the years, they’ve helped roughly 750,000 entrepreneurs form their Corporations and LLC’s.

In this Incorporate.com review we’re going to find out if they’re actually the right service for you. We’ll break it down, check out some pros & cons, and help you size them up so you can make the most informed decision possible. Let’s get started.

Some Pros & Cons of Incorporate.com

Pros

  1. In essence they handle the legal red tape of filing and registration so you don’t have to, at a fraction of what traditional lawyers can cost. They make it so you can focus on the more important parts of starting your business.

  2. Incorporate.com monitors requirements to keep you compliant/updated on documents that need filing. This way you’re never caught off guard by the state or other relevant agencies and are totally informed.

  3. You get a $50,000 Corporate Veil Guarantee. However in the fine print you’ll see that this is only for the entrepreneurs who choose Incorporate.com to be their Registered Agent.

  4. You get access to a free Learning Center that gives you helpful information on complicated legal concepts. There are webinars, extensive libraries, glossaries and hundreds of eBooks at your disposal.

  5. When browsing their prices and packages, if you select your state, they’ll include the precise amount the you’ll pay in state fees directly below their package costs. Very transparent pricing.

Cons

  1. First, their prices are higher than other popular options like IncFile who offer the same services in their Starter package for $50 less. Rather than $99, IncFile only charges $49. (Learn More)

  2. Secondly, based on the Incorporate.com customer reviews, they seem to be rather hit or miss. Some are excellent, while others aren’t so great. We’re talking the entire gambit from, “This company is amazing!” to “They’re like some sort of old school mafia out to get me!” More on this momentarily.

  3. When we dug a little deeper, it looks as though a big challenge the company is dealing with is the more intense customer service people are used to these days. For customers, the only representatives of the company they can talk to are the business specialists rather than core management/owners.

Pricing & Features

Incorporate.com LLC

Incorporate.com has three very straightforward packages with basic features and the option to add other services if you want. Below is a closer look of these packages along with their prices and features.

Keep the additional state filing fees in mind. They vary from state to state, so for example, this is what you could expect to pay if you were forming an LLC in California.

Their most basic package, aptly called, ‘The Starter’ will file your formation documents, grant you access to their Compliance Watch tool, and includes their $50,000 Corporate Veil guarantee. The bundle is pretty great if you’re just wanting the basics.

But if you’re in the market for something a little bit more involved, their ‘The Essentials’ and ‘The Works’ packages include things like Compliance Kits & Company Seals, Online Guidebooks and even Business Coaching.

At the end of the day starting a business will require some initial investments, and their pricing is reasonable.

Incorporate.com Customer Reviews

Customer ReviewsWhen we review companies like Incorporate.com, our goal is to be as honest as possible. And unfortunately there are a lot of not-so-great customer reviews online for this company. But rather than just leave you with that, we decided to investigate and see where these reviews are coming from.

There are a number of people who felt they were unjustly charged, or had less than ideal interactions with the company. The #1 complaint is in regards to their Registered Service Agent service. Over the years like many companies we have reviewed do, they’ve offered deals on their website so when you purchase a package, you’ll have access to a Registered Service Agent for the next year, at no additional cost. But there’s some fine print attached to that.

At the moment, this is not a part of their package, but regardless, it’s important if you choose to sign up that you don’t select this option by accident. Their annual rate for Registered Agent service is pretty steep, $275 to be exact (including state fees and shipping costs).

While we definitely recommend you look into a having a Registered Agent service, there are definitely less expensive options.

With all that being said, don’t let that get you too bogged down. Looking at reviews can be scary, but it’s important to take them with a grain of salt since the majority of them are billing related confusion with their annual charge for Registered Agent services. Incorporate.com stills has an A+ rating from Better Business Bureau and a wrap sheet of successfully started businesses 100 miles long.

In a situation like this, we highly recommend doing some research of your own and check out the Incorporate.com customer reviews online.

How Does Incorporate.com Compare?

Incorporate.com ComparisonIn terms of sheer volume, they’re drawing close to a million customers which is substantially more than the majority of their competition.

Furthermore, their suite of services are broken down well for their ideal customers. They know their audience, so as you’ll see in the pricing section their package options are perfectly suited.

It’s also unique to get a $50,000 Corporate Veil Guarantee in every package (if you choose to use their Registered Agent services), from The Starter to The Works. This is why they’ve been features in so many mainstream financial publications.

However if you were to compare them to a service like IncFile, you’ll see that Incorporate.com has much higher pricing for essentially the same amount of value and fewer customer complaints. Plus if you were to use a Registered Agent service to make your life a little easier on an ongoing basis, IncFile charges $99/year while Incorporate.com charges $275/year.

On the flip side, Harbor Compliance is a formation service that does have much higher pricing but offers some serious value. Their services are ideal if you’re wanting a 1-on-1 compliance specialist, personalized ongoing support, and dedicated formation services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Any Specific Filing Times?

Yes, but all filing times are dependent on what state you’re starting your entity in. The filing times, as well as state fees, vary considerably from state to state. When you select your entity and state on Incorporate.com’s home page, they’ll provide you with some outlines on what you can expect in terms of price and timing.

Are There Incorporate.com Discounts Available?

Yes! During our research we were able to find you a link where you can get $25 dollars off your package, regardless of your selection.

What’s Their Refund Policy?

If you decide to cancel your order, you may be able to get a refund. Whether you can or not is wholly dependent on how soon after purchasing you cancel. If it’s less than 24 hours after, chances are they haven’t started on your paperwork and you can request a refund.

They’ll charge you a processing fee of $50 though. If the paperwork has already been started, completed or sent off to the state, you’re not eligible for a refund.

Can I File Independently?

Absolutely, you always have the option of filing by yourself. The big reason why people turn to providers like Incorporate.com is so they can get back to running their business and allow a business with experience to handle all their paperwork.

If you’re interested in the DIY approach, we’ve put together free step-by-step How to Form an LLC and How to Form a Corporation guides that show how to go about it.

Any Hidden Fees?

No, but there are fees to be aware of. Incorporate.com does a pretty good job of outlining what you can expect to receive within their packages as well as what you can expect to pay.

But, as we mentioned earlier, they do offer a Registered Service Agent service that can be quite pricey if you choose it. If that’s not something you think you need, just make sure no unnecessary boxes are checked and you should be good to go.

Must I Sign Anything?

Nope! For the most part companies like Incorporate.com act as ‘incorporators’ or ‘filers’ on your behalf. They’ll sign off on your documentation as such when submitting your paperwork to the state.

How Secure is Incorporate.com?

Like a couple of other rockstar companies, Incorporate.com uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encrypt all of your personal information so you can rest assured it’s safe. This data is only accessible to a very small number of employees and all information is treated as strictly confidential.

Do They Offer Ongoing Support?

Yes, customer service reps are available through email, phone and LiveChat. They have had issues in the past with providing the more intense, tailored customer service that some prefer, but make a conscious effort to hire excellent employees for you to talk to if you have specific concerns.

If you have more general questions about legal matters or next steps, there information is a great resource for additional knowledge.

Should You Use Incorporate.com?

It’s all up to you. Your needs are really the most important part of deciding which formation service is best. If you like reliability and a long track record, Incorporate.com could be a good choice.

But if you’re looking for extremely personalized customer service or lower prices, there might be better options. To explore those options click the green button below to see how they compare.
