Incorporate.com LLC Review

(Is It Worth The Investment?)

Incorporate.com ReviewDo you want to form an LLC and you’re considering an online formation service? Maybe you don’t like the idea of fighting your way through legalese and red tape via the DIY approach, or you’re sick of trying to decipher info on official state resource sites.

To supplement your research, my team and I invested hundreds of hours into investigating every detail of all the popular online LLC formation providers.

That said, in this Incorporate.com LLC review, I’ll discuss pros and cons, pricing, features, customer feedback and more. Along the way, you’ll hopefully learn if they’re the ideal formation service for you. Enjoy!

Incorporate.com Pros & Cons

Pros

  1. Incorporate.com originally opened their doors in 1899, and they’ve formed 750,000+ corporations and LLCs over the years. Their longevity in the industry is second to none.

  2. Their Free Learning Center includes standard FAQ-type materials, as well as comprehensive guides for business formation, state compliance requirements, business taxes, etc.

  3. Their customer support agents are ready to help you from 8am to 8pm ET M-Th, and 8am to 6pm ET on Fridays. You can call, live chat, or email, whatever works best for you.

  4. Incorporate.com handles every possible step necessary to form your compliant business. You’d be surprised how many of their competitors sell incomplete formation packages (more on this in a moment).

Cons

  1. Their prices are much higher than most competitors. For example, their basic LLC formation package starts at $99 and their registered agent costs $235/year. Services like IncFile, on the other hand, start at $49 and offer a registered agent free for one year.

  2. Customer reviews aren’t their strong suit yet. Between BBB.org and Yelp, we found 45 customer reviews, only 8 of which are neutral or positive.

Pricing & Features

Incorporate.com provides three options for customers looking for LLC formation service: Starter, Essentials and Works. See for yourself in the following screenshot of their setup:

Incorporate com Pricing and Features New

The Starter = $99 + ‘State Fee’

What It Includes: This package includes only the basics for LLC formation. The graphic on Incorporate.com suggests this tier also includes access to their online Compliance Watch tool and their $50,000 Corporate Veil Guarantee, but that’s only true if you add on their registered agent service for at least $235 per year.

Who It’s Right For: If you’re an entrepreneur who simply wants to form their LLC with no bells and whistles this could be the package.

The Essentials = $249 + ‘State Fee’

What It Includes: With this package, you get everything from The Starter, plus an EIN and an LLC kit/seal.

Who It’s Right For: If you’re one of the many business owners who enjoy the nostalgia of a kit and seal, it’s worth considering. Otherwise, you can just add the EIN onto The Starter package.

The Works = $349 + ‘State Fee’

What It Includes: Everything from The Essentials package, plus a business license compliance package, an operating agreement and an informative ebook.

Who It’s Right For: If you need a business license service, consider this upgrade because $100 is a fair price for business license research/filing. The operating agreement and ebook are free bonuses. Besides, it’s convenient getting all this done under one roof.

What’s Up With Those ‘State Fees’?

If you’re considering using one of their competitors for LLC formation, make certain to check their state fees for your state of formation. There are often other steps required for compliance that Incorporate.com includes, but others don’t. For example, some states require you to publish a newspaper ad announcing the formation of your LLC. Incorporate.com includes this publishing service, whereas other providers don’t offer it, and in some cases don’t even tell you that you need it.

Recommended Package

Personally, I’m most interested in The Starter, especially since I can add an EIN for $80. It has the essential features you need, but it won’t break the bank.

Incorporate.com Customer Reviews

Customer ReviewsFor whatever reason, there aren’t many online reviews of Incorporate.com yet (after more than a century in business), but we did find a small selection of customer feedback on BBB.org and Yelp. Out of the 45 total reviews, 8 of them were positive or neutral, with their happy customers complimenting Incorporate.com for saving them time and hassle.

Customer Reviews Section Last Updated: 7-20-17

  • BBB:  A+ (13 reviews)
  • Yelp:  2/5 (32 reviews)

Conclusion: With a relatively small pool of reviews like this, it’s hard to draw many conclusions. I do wish there was more positive feedback to be found though. However, being in business for over 100 years says something as well.

How Does Incorporate.com Compare?

Incorporate.com ComparisonConsidering I’ve invested so much time into figuring out what differentiates these services, I’ve found that some of them simply provide more bang for your buck than others. Which company has that ideal marriage of features and price points to make you a satisfied customer?

Incorporate.com is a solid option for LLC formation because of their longevity in the industry. It’s still always a good idea to check out what the competition’s offering, so let’s take a look at my personal favorite, IncFile.

Pricing: IncFile’s base package is $49, compared to Incorporate.com’s $99 Starter package.

Features: With IncFile, you get a full year of registered agent service with any LLC formation package, along with a 1-hour business tax consult and real-time filing status tracking.

Turnaround Time: Incorporate.com automatically adds expedited processing to all orders, and their completion times are comparable to expedited filings with IncFile. No big difference here that I can see.

Customer Support: The reps at Incorporate.com haven’t been able to answer all of my questions, but they’re friendly and willing to assist, and they’re easy to get ahold of as well. IncFile generally has highly knowledgeable agents, but they can sometimes take a bit longer to get in touch with.

Businesses Formed So Far: IncFile has helped form over 100,000 businesses since 2004. On the other hand, Incorporate.com lays claim to 750,000+ businesses formed since 1899. It’s no contest in the experience battle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Just Form a Business Myself?

Yes, you can. No matter which state you’re in, you can form an LLC yourself without the help of a filing service like Incorporate.com (Here’s How). The advantage of enlisting a service like this is that the process is often faster, safer, and more convenient than going it alone. Plus, you get to focus your energy on the more exciting parts of starting a business!

Are There Any Hidden Fees?

Nope. In fact, we really like the way Incorporate.com breaks down their state fees in itemized lists, because it helps point out the crucial services they offer that the competitors might be lacking.

Is My Information Secure?

With McAfee SECURE protecting their site at all times, Incorporate.com is as secure or more than most other places on the web.

Does Incorporate.com Offer Ongoing Support?

Certainly. Just give them a call, shoot them a web chat message or an email, etc. They’ll be happy to help, no matter if you made your purchase today or a year ago. They even say on their website that there are “No Dumb Questions.”

Should You Use Incorporate.com?

Incorporate.com gets a 4.1/5 in my book. They’ve been in the industry for over a century, so their experience is almost impossible to top.
