Is It Worth The Investment?
Do you need a good registered agent service for your company but you’re not sure which of the many providers to go with? It can be difficult to figure out who has the best deal, because there are so many companies offering similar services. Believe me, I’ve been there!
As a supplement to your own research, my team and I spent hours researching the details of all the popular registered agent services. Instead of talking you into using one service or another, I’d like to provide you with the info you need to make the right choice for your company.
In this Incorporate.com registered agent review, we’ll go over some pros and cons, pricing, features, customer feedback and much more. Let’s find out if they’re a good fit for you!
They offer a Corporate Veil guarantee when they act as your registered agent. As long as you follow their guidelines, they cover you with up to $50k in legal fees if someone tries to sue you for your personal assets.
Incorporate.com opened for business in 1899, making them unrivaled in the industry for longevity and experience.
Like most companies in this field, they have an online Learning Center. However, theirs includes far more information than the competition, with webinars, a document library and several ebooks. That’s a lot of added value.
They protect their website with McAfee SECURE which scans for malware and encrypts your private data. They’re serious about your security.
There are much cheaper registered agent alternatives. At $235 per year, their annual fee is more than double some competitors rates. While it’s true you often get what you pay for, they’re on the higher end.
Customer reviews aren’t currently their strong suit. Between BBB.org and Yelp, we found 46 reviews, of which just 7 are positive. Also, all of those positive reviews were written in 2014 or earlier.
Incorporate.com’s registered agent service is priced at a premium rate. At $235, it’s among the costliest online registered agent services available. Let’s take a look at what they have to offer.
What does all that money get you? Like any registered agent service, Incorporate.com is responsible for receiving any litigation documents or government notices in your stead, and then delivering those documents to you in a timely, private and safe manner.
The feature that sets them apart from the competition is the $50,000 Corporate Veil guarantee, which is a major added layer of protection in case of serious legal matters where limited liability is lost. If you want your personal assets protected, Incorporate.com goes the extra mile.
I don’t believe in sugarcoating, so I’ll just say that customer feedback is not Incorporate.com’s strongest attribute. I only found 7 positive reviews out of 46 total, and those positive ones are all from 2014 or earlier.
Their satisfied customers talk about how they liked their service agents, or how they saved time and money over using a lawyer. On the other hand, their more critical reviewers complain about errors in their filings and general billing disputes.

Conclusion: Customer reviews aren’t where Incorporate.com is going to win your business. How much weight you put into this customer feedback is up to you. Personally, I’m not all that concerned about a few dozen critical reviews (considering the volume of businesses they serve), but it’s possible you weigh reviews more heavily than I do.
Considering how much time I’ve spent researching registered agent services, I’ve learned that some providers objectively give more for the money than others. Of course, the goal here is still to figure out which one hits the sweet spot between pricing and features for your business.
Incorporate.com is a good provider of registered agent service because of their Corporate Veil guarantee and their longevity. Still, it’s always a good idea to see what the competition is offering, so let’s see how they compare to my personal favorite, Northwest Registered Agent.
Pricing: Northwest Registered Agent’s fee starts at $125 per state for service in up to 3 states. For the 4th through 9th states they charge $115, and for every state after that it’s $100.
Features: Northwest Registered Agent offers local scanning of all documents and immediate notifications. They also provide annual report reminders. However, they do not offer a Corporate Veil guarantee like Incorporate.com does.
Customer Support: Northwest Registered Agent earns their reputation for top-rate support, as their knowledgeable professionals are always ready to handle your questions. Incorporate.com’s reps haven’t been able to answer every question I’ve asked them, but they are quite friendly and willing to assist, and they also are easy to get ahold of.
Experience: As mentioned, Incorporate.com has been around since 1899, an experience advantage no one can match. Northwest Registered Agent isn’t exactly the new kid on the block either though, as they’ve been in business since 1998.

Yes in some states, no in others. Typically in states where you can, it’s only for one specific location and someone must be available at all times during regular business hours. In addition, you may need to make your personal address a matter of public record. There’s significant downsides to acting as your own registered agent.
There’s several potential consequences of not having a registered agent. First, you could lose your good standing with federal, state or local government entities, and expose your company to potential fines. You might even be prohibited from doing business entirely.
Sure, but check your state guidelines before doing so. There may be some sort of fee, or special forms that need to be filed to allow you to switch your registered agent.
I’ll give Incorporate.com a score of 3.9/5. Their $50,000 Corporate Veil guarantee is a unique feature, and if you’re concerned about losing your limited liability it’s a valuable addition to your registered agent service.
