(Pricing, Features, Customer Reviews & More)
Are you ready to form a business in Delaware, don’t want to deal with it yourself, and want to work with a business formation service?
In this article, we’re reviewing Harvard Business Services (also known as DelawareInc.com), who has been in the industry over 30 years now, so they’ve got the system down to a science.
We’ll be going through the most important features of their approach, pros & cons, pricing, and more. So without further delay, let’s find out if they’re actually right for you!
Harvard Business Services is an incredible bargain for those of you looking for a registered agent. They charge just $50 per year for registered agent service while their competition usually charges $150 or more.
They sometimes run sales that include some pretty deep discounts. At the time of this writing, they were offering $100 off any business formation fee.
Harvard Business Services opened their doors in 1981, and have served over 170,000 companies since. Their experience is difficult to match in the incorporation industry.
The HBS Blog is an excellent resource for business owners, updated several times a week with fresh, relevant content.
Is Spanish your preferred language? No problem! Not only does Harvard Business Services have Spanish-speaking representatives, they even have a complete Spanish-language version of their website.
Their customer reviews are spectacular. They hold a staggering 9.8 out of 10 rating — from over 1,300 reviews — on TrustPilot.
Don’t want to incorporate in Delaware? You’ll need to find another company. Harvard Business Service specializes solely on Delaware.
There are cheaper options out there, like IncFile, which starts at just $49. That’s pretty darn affordable compared to Harvard Business Services’ $179 base package.
Harvard Business Services doesn’t give customers much incentive to purchase their top-tier packages. The Basic and Standard packages don’t add much over the base-level Green tier.
With Harvard Business Services, you can choose from three tiers of service, whether you’re filing domestically or internationally: Green, Basic and Standard. (Prices include a $100 promotional discount, which may or may not be applicable.)
All packages include a full year of registered agent service, same-day document filing, lifetime customer support and more. If you pay the extra $50 for the Basic level, you get a hard copy of all your documents — in additional to the digital copies you get with the Green package — and also a CD-ROM with some operating agreements and tax forms on it.
Spending up to the Standard tier costs $100, and in addition to everything you get with the Basic package, you get a corporate kit and seal.
In our opinion, the Green package is so fully featured that we don’t see much reason to spend the extra money, especially for the Standard package. An additional $150 isn’t the greatest bargain when you’re basically just getting paper copies, some documents on a CD-ROM and a largely symbolic (but cool looking!) corporate kit and seal.
But again, this is just our opinion. Trust your gut and do what’s right for your new business.
Harvard Business Services has done a fantastic job wowing their customers. In fact, they’ve gathered over a thousand reviews on TrustPilot (a 3rd party review website), earning a 9.8 rating.
We picked out a couple of the most notable reviews to give you a peek of what others are saying.
“Harvard Business Services helped me form the best business option for my needs. They worked quickly and efficiently. All documentation was delivered in the specified time frame. I feel confident knowing Harvard Business Services is the registered agent for my company. I highly recommend this service for anyone looking to form a Delaware company.” – Kari
“Excellent service, very helpful staff, they walked me through the complete process of setting up my Delaware LLC. I highly recommend HBS to any company who needs to setup a Delaware corporation.” – Greyscale Group
“HBS is a very professional service provider. Working with them is easy and very straight forward. They didn’t surprised me with extra cost or any kind of complications. Certainly, I will work with them again and I will advise anyone to do the same.” – Ahmed Mohamedou
In addition to these glowing reviews, they’ve also attained an A+ rating from Better Business Bureau. Not too shabby.
Harvard Business Services is a great choice to form your new business, thanks to their inexpensive registered agent service and extensively positive customer reviews. However, if you want to incorporate in a state other than Delaware — or if you’d just like to take a look at some other options — let’s compare their services to the competition.
IncFile is one of the least expensive incorporation companies out there. With pricing starting at just $49, IncFile is the best option if your top priority is saving money, but still getting what you need. You won’t get as many features as you will with Harvard Business Service, but sometimes the basics are all you need!
Another option is Rocket Lawyer, who gives two pricing options. You’ll be able to choose a basic formation service for $99, or a monthly subscription of $49.95 that covers your business formation, as well as a laundry list of other legal products and services. Rocket Lawyer will even connect you with lawyers and other legal professionals, at a discounted rate. If you foresee requiring additional ongoing services, Rocket Lawyer is very impressive.
No matter which service you choose, these are three well-regarded companies that are all perfectly capable of quickly and correctly bringing your business to life. Whichever one you choose will provide solid value for your dollar.
