CorpNet NonProfit Review

Is It Worth It? (Pros, Cons & More)

CorpNet NonProfit ReviewAre you in the process of forming a nonprofit and looking for some help? Considering the uniquely specific compliance requirements of many nonprofits, the DIY route can be incredibly complex. However, there’s so many nonprofit formation services that it’s tough to know which one’s right for you.

As a supplement to your own research, my team and I invested many hours into researching online nonprofit formation providers. Our goal is to give you the information you need to make a fully informed decision for your business.

In this CorpNet nonprofit review, we’ll talk about some pros and cons, pricing and features, customer reviews and more. Read on to find out if they’re a good fit for your company!

CorpNet Pros & Cons

  1. CorpNet has amazing customer feedback. As evidenced by their 9.6 out of 10 score on TrustPilot, it’s clear that their clients are pleased with their experiences.

  2. All of their services are backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee, which says that if you’re unsatisfied they will refund any fees paid to CorpNet, with no questions asked.

  3. While CorpNet is a major operation, they maintain a personal touch. Husband-and-wife team Philip and Nellie Akalp have been in the industry for over two decades, serving 100,000+ businesses along the way.

  4. Their Deluxe and Complete nonprofit formation packages include a full year of registered agent service and a federal tax ID number or EIN. Seeing as most companies end up needing these anyway, it’s great to take a one-stop shopping approach.

  1. CorpNet’s Basic package costs $128, which isn’t high but when the industry standard is $99, it makes you wonder why you’re spending an extra $29 on CorpNet for shipping/handling.

CorpNet Nonprofit Pricing & Features

CorpNet gives customers 3 choices for their nonprofit formation service, ranging from $128 to $328: Basic, Deluxe, and Complete.

Keep in mind that CorpNet does not include shipping in the price points for these products. Since almost all of their competitors do include shipping in their advertised prices, I adjusted CorpNet’s rates to be comparable to the competition.CorpNet Nonprofit Pricing & Features

Basic = $128 + State Fee

What It Includes: This package gets you the essentials of incorporation, including a business name availability check, and the preparation and filing of your Articles of Incorporation. In addition, the Basic package includes the B.I.Z. Corporate Compliance Tool which provides document storage and deadline reminders, and 60 days of registered agent service to receive and forward important documents.

Who It’s Right For: Entrepreneurs who simply need nonprofit formation without the bells and whistles should be pleased with what the Basic package has to offer.

Deluxe = $228 + State Fee

What It Includes: Everything from the Basic package, plus 24-hour document prep, a full year of registered agent services, a federal tax ID number (EIN) which enables you to hire employees and open business bank accounts, and a hard copy of your formation documents.

Who It’s Right For: Most businesses do need an EIN and registered agent service, so I’m a big fan of the Deluxe package for all but the smallest nonprofit operations.

Complete = $328 + State Fee

What It Includes: Everything from the Deluxe package, along with a custom nonprofit kit and seal to organize your company documents.

Who It’s Right For: Despite CorpNet’s assertion that this is the “Best Value,” you’re not saving any money over simply ordering the Deluxe package and adding the kit/seal for $100.

Recommended Package

In my opinion, the Deluxe package is a no-brainer and is actually one of my favorite nonprofit formation packages from any company. It’s a smartly bundled collection of features that most companies need.

Remember, if you need to file an application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, you’ll need to do that separately as none of these packages include that service.

Customer Reviews

Customer ReviewsCorpNet scores big points with their top-rate customer feedback. With over 300 reviews available online, and nearly zero critical feedback to be found, most reviews discuss how fast CorpNet’s services are, and how helpful and friendly their support reps are.

Conclusion: CorpNet has some of the most consistently positive customer reviews in the entire industry. It’s impossible to view this as anything other than a big pro.

How CorpNet Compares

CorpNet Nonprofit ComparisonWith as many hours as I’ve invested into researching online nonprofit formation, I’ve discovered that some of them offer more bang for your buck than others. Of course, our goal is still to figure out which one has the right combination of pricing and features for you.

CorpNet is a top nonprofit formation service because of their great customer reviews and satisfaction guarantee. Still, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on what the competition is offering, so let’s also take a look at my personal favorite, Harbor Compliance.

Pricing: As a premium service provider, Harbor Compliance charges $1,499 for nonprofit formation service, which is obviously much higher than CorpNet’s $128 price point.

Features: Harbor Compliance includes a 501(c)(3) application to acquire tax-exempt status, an EIN to open business bank accounts and file taxes, and a full year of registered agent service. With CorpNet’s Basic package the only extra add-on you get is 60 days of registered agent services.

Customer Support: There’s nothing wrong with CorpNet’s service department staffed by knowledgeable support reps, but Harbor Compliance’s calling card is their next-level customer service and dedicated support. When you purchase your nonprofit formation service from them, they immediately assign you a Compliance Specialist who sticks with you for the entire process. You have that rep’s personal email address and direct phone number, so you can talk to the same person any time an issue crops up.

Experience: Since Harbor Compliance opened in 2012, they’ve served over 10,000 customers. On the other hand, CorpNet’s ownership group has helped 100,000+ clients in the last 20 years.
