CorpNet DBA Review

Is It Right For You? (Pros, Cons & More)

CorpNet DBA Review

Need a DBA for your business and not sure where to begin? Finding the right DBA filing service is tough because there are so many companies vying for your business. Trust me, I’ve been there too!

As a complement to your own research, my team and I have spent countless hours poring over the details of every popular online DBA provider. Rather than talking you into using one service over another, I’d like to give you the info you need to make the best decision for your company.

In this CorpNet DBA review, we’ll go over the pros and cons, pricing and features, customer reviews and much more. Let’s find out if they’re the right fit for your business!

Pros & Cons of CorpNet

Pros of CorpNet

  • They have excellent customer reviews. With a 9.6 out of 10 rating on TrustPilot, CorpNet’s customer feedback essentially boils down to universal praise.
  • With 2 DBA filing packages, their approach is a bit more flexible than the one-size-fits-all method most providers use for getting a DBA.
  • CorpNet has a 100% satisfaction guarantee for their DBA filing service. If you are unhappy for any reason they will refund your money, no questions asked.
  • Their services are also covered by the Norton Shopping Guarantee. This feature provides a guarantee on purchases up to $1,000, as well as $10,000 in identity theft protection.
  • This family-owned company has a personal touch that makes you feel like a valued client rather than a number. Husband and wife Philip and Nellie Akalp have offered filing services for over 20 years, with 100,000+ businesses served.

Cons of CorpNet

  • CorpNet’s Basic package costs $108 after shipping and handling. While that’s not far from the industry standard $99 rate, it’s still an extra $9 with no additional features to speak of.

CorpNet scores a 4.6/5 in my book. Their customer feedback is basically unbeatable and their satisfaction guarantee offers a nice safety net.

CorpNet DBA Pricing & Features

CorpNet gives you the option of 2 DBA filing packages priced at $108 and $278, Basic and Success. Check out what you get with each package:

Corpnet DBA Pricing

Basic = $108 + State Fee

What It Includes: This package gets you the essentials of DBA obtainment, including a name search and the preparation and filing of your documents.

Who It’s Right For: If you don’t need any additional bells and whistles, this package gives you everything you need to operate under your new assumed name.

Success = $278 + State Fee

What It Includes: Everything from the Basic package, plus overnight shipping of your documents, the obtainment of a federal tax ID number (EIN) which allows you to hire employees and open business bank accounts, and a business license package to acquire the permits and licenses you need for compliance.

Who It’s Right For: These additional features would cost $197 on an a la carte basis, so in other words you’re basically getting the overnight shipping for free and paying full price for the EIN and licensing package. If you need both of those, you might as well tack on free overnight shipping.

Recommended Package

The Basic package includes everything you need and nothing you don’t. I would only recommend the Success package if you are already planning on getting an EIN and business license package from CorpNet.

Customer Reviews

CorpNet’s customers don’t seem to have much to complain about, seeing as their feedback is almost entirely positive. With over 300 reviews to sift through, their satisfied clients often praise the speed of CorpNet’s services and the helpfulness of their support reps.

Conclusion: With critical reviews nearly impossible to find, customer reviews represent a big point in CorpNet’s favor. It’s tough to get better than this.

How CorpNet Compares

Considering how much time I’ve spent researching online DBA services, I’ve determined that some of them objectively offer more for your money than others do. Of course, the reason we’re here is to figure out which one hits the sweet spot of pricing and features for your business.

CorpNet is a good service to help get a DBA because of their satisfaction guarantee and top-notch customer feedback. Still, it’s always smart to keep an eye on the competition, so let’s also look at my personal favorite, LegalZoom.

Pricing: LegalZoom’s base rate of $99 is a slight saving compared to CorpNet’s $108.

Features: CorpNet’s Basic package and LegalZoom’s Standard package include the same features. LegalZoom’s $119 Premium package includes a 3-month QuickBooks Online accounting software trial and a 30-day trial of their Business Advisory Plan, whereas CorpNet Success costs $278 and includes overnight shipping, EIN obtainment, and a business license package.

Customer Support: Both companies have fairly good customer service reputations, but CorpNet is a bit more consistent. You can notice this difference when you compare the customer reviews for both companies. However, LegalZoom has extended support hours which can be a lifesaver. They answer the phone from 8am to 10pm ET on weekdays, and they’re even open on Saturdays from 10am to 7pm ET.

Experience: LegalZoom has served nearly 4 million customers in the last 18 years, which is a volume of customers that’s tough to match. CorpNet’s owners got their start in this industry back in 1997, and have served 100,000+ businesses since then.
