“Linkody offers a complete solution to webmasters and SEO agencies to fully manage their link tracking and link building processes.”

Describe your company values and mission:

“Offer efficient SEO tools.”

How are you funded? I.e. venture capital, angel investors, etc.

“Bootstrapped.”

How big is your team? Tell us a little about them (I.e. co-founders, freelancers, etc.)

“I am the sole founder. I hire freelancers when needed.”

Did you always want to start your own business? What made you want to become an entrepreneur?

“It all started because I needed an SEO tool to achieve a simple task, and it didn’t exist, so I decided to develop it and make it available to anyone.”

How did you come up with your startup idea? How did you decide to actually act on the idea? What gave you confidence that you were on the right track?

“The tool got traction, and I saw a business opportunity.”

How did you come up with your company name? Did you have other names you considered?

“A friend of mine came up with the idea.”

What is the greatest challenge you faced in starting your business, and how did you overcome it?

“I originally have a technical background. Developing the product and simultaneously learning and executing all the other parts of the business (marketing, promotion, etc.) was tough.”

Who is your product or service made for? Who is your target market?

“Any marketing agency, business, or webmaster that [is] serious about their SEO or working on their clients' SEO.”

What's your marketing strategy?

“100% of my traffic is organic. The blog is bringing notoriety and attracting backlinks. I am offering free SEO tools that bring traffic that I convert into paid customers.”

How did you acquire your first 100 customers?

“Through organic traffic.”

What are the key customer metrics / unit economics / KPIs you pay attention to to monitor the health of your business?

“Annual recurring revenue, total number of customers, churn.”

What's your favorite book on entrepreneurship?

“‘Start Small Stay Small.’”

What is your favorite startup or business podcast?

“The ‘Indie Hackers’ podcast.”

What is something that surprised you about entrepreneurship?

“It's life-changing.”

How do you achieve work/life balance as a founder?

“Pretty easily. I have a lot of other interests, like rock climbing, hiking, and yoga. I want to spend time with my girlfriend and my friends.”

How do you stay motivated?

“I have a vision and a personal goal. During rough times I focus on these.”

Did you have to develop any habits that helped lead you to success? If so, what are they?

“Being a solopreneur leads to so many different things to achieve. Avoiding multitasking and keeping focus is difficult but essential.”

What are you most proud of as an entrepreneur?

“Building a SaaS used by hundreds of well-known brands and SEO agencies.”
