An Interview with Adam Howell

CEO/Founder of Alpha Male Blueprint & Unacell LLC

Adam Howell Interview

Adam Howell, CEO/founder of Alpha Male Blueprint, is a high school dropout turned serial entrepreneur. Adam specializes in building online startups and has created over 50 products in the last 3.5 years. This year he's launching 5 new startups and will be teaching the process to others along the way.

In this interview, Adam shares his journey running his first online business, and why he thought it wasn't good enough despite the income it generated in the first year. He also shares what his life looked like after he took his life savings and sold his truck to travel the world and embrace entrepreneurship entirely. Enjoy!

SO ADAM, WHAT MADE YOU TAKE THE LEAP AND FOUND ALPHA MALE BLUEPRINT?

When I first started working online back in 2012, I was able to achieve success in the affiliate marketing industry almost overnight. Our small team was able to generate over 7-figures in revenue within our first year and for a brief moment, I felt as though I might have this online business thing figured out.

The issue was that even though the money was rolling in, it lacked the fulfillment I was looking for in life. Selling people products and services that people didn't necessarily need didn't bring any kind of long-term satisfaction.

It was at this point that I had to take a long hard look and determine what it was that made me happy and the answer was helping other people and personal growth. It was at this point that I decided to launch Alpha Male Blueprint.

HOW DID/DO YOU GO ABOUT FINDING THE BEST PEOPLE FOR YOUR TEAM?

My entire platform operates using remote workers from different parts of the world mostly on a per-project basis. We do have 2 full-time employees operating out of the Philippines, my main coder, and designer.

All of our other team members were found using a variety of different freelancing websites such as Upwork, Fiverr and even Craigslist. The process usually involves hiring 5 people on a trial basis and then keeping the best performer for long-term use.

HOW DID YOU TACKLE THE FUNDING ISSUE EARLY ON?

Before deciding to become an online entrepreneur, I spent 10 years working in the Canadian Oilfields. Once the decision was made I sold my truck, took my life savings and began traveling all over the world taking unique personal development and entrepreneurial courses.

I started my adventure by traveling with a group of the very best pickup artists on a 3-month journey around the world. At the end of that trip, I moved to Poland with a group of affiliate marketers and began developing products while sharing a small apartment with 2 other guys. In order to survive, I focused my efforts on learning how to develop cool things for as cheap as possible.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 DEFINING TRAITS AS AN ENTREPRENEUR, ADAM?

I'm an action taker. Over the years, I've identified one of my key strengths as being able to take a vision and turn it into a reality by simply taking action until the job is done. Everyone has access to virtually all of the same teaching and online resources, it's what you do with that information that matters.

I've always been willing to make sacrifices and really put myself outside of my comfort zone. I was willing to sell all of my possessions and literally give up my old life in order to try and achieve more out of life. Recently, I just went a full year without a cell phone or the use of any dating apps in order to really focus on my projects.

And probably the most important trait that I have is that I'm a grinder. I'm willing to put in the hard work from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed in order to win and will almost always be the last guy signing off for the day.

HOW WAS YOUR INITIAL CUSTOMER BASE FORMED, AND HOW DO YOU KEEP IT GROWING?

Our tentative customer base has been formed by the use of many different social media tools and with PPC advertising. Currently, we spend 5 dollars a day on Facebook and are able to achieve 2 cent likes on a daily basis. Additionally, we use tools like Massplanner, Instagress and HootSuite to continually grow our accounts and to automate some of our social media growth.

Once we do release our first products we will be mainly focused on driving traffic with PPC.

IF YOUR BRAND HAD A ROLE MODEL, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

Arnold Schwartzenegger, perhaps the greatest alpha male of our generation. His ability to achieve massive success in multiple areas of life is incredible, not to mention he's still operating at such a high level at his age. There are certainly others, Gary V, Frank Kern, Tony Robbins, Richard Branson, Elon Musk but when it comes to the most alpha, Arnold takes the cake!

TO DATE, WHAT'S THE BIGGEST MISTAKE ALPHA MALE BLUEPRINT HAS OVERCOME?

We have certainly made a lot of mistakes. One of my biggest failures wasn't having the proper paperwork in place to protect me and getting ripped off by some former business partners for 6-figures. This setback was absolutely devastating at the time and I was at the point where I didn't think I'd be able to recover.

Luckily, I now look back at that incident as a blessing and accredit it to the journey I'm on now.

HOW DID YOU MASTER THE ART OF LIFE/WORK BALANCE, ADAM?

The truth of the matter is that I haven't yet. I'm still obsessed with achieving a high level of success and obsessively work towards that goal. I keep telling myself that I will focus on rebuilding a proper social life once I finish a few more achievements but that internal dialogue has been going on for quite a while. It's something I still need to work on and I'm okay with that for now.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU GOT FOR SOMEONE INTERESTED IN STARTING A BIZ IN YOUR AREA?

Radically change your environment. If you wake up at 8 am, go to work, come home and then watch Netflix, play video games or hang out with others who do these things on a regular basis. You need to make an environment change.
